About Mike

I’ve always been a bit of a hybrid healer, deeply sensitive and gifted with intuitive abilities from an early age. My healing journey began in earnest after a profound dark night of the soul in 2013, when I was diagnosed with a very rare disease. Refusing to accept this as my fate, I embarked on a relentless quest to uncover the spiritual meaning behind my condition and to transform it once and for all.

For over a decade, I have pursued an immersive and disciplined healing path, guided by a deep commitment to rewriting my life’s story. This journey took me throughout South America, where I studied shamanism within the Shipibo, Q’ero, and Kichwa lineages, participated in extensive Indigenous ceremonial work, and completed formal Andean shamanic training. Alongside lineage-based study, I trained in shamanic journeying and divination, ancestral and lineage healing, ritualized shadow work, and earth-based ceremony, while integrating additional Andean practices such as mesa work and initiatory death–rebirth and psychopomp-oriented healing processes. Complementing this work, I engaged in integrative modalities including plant medicine integration, breath-based and somatic practices, sound and vibrational healing, sensory deprivation, neurofeedback, acupuncture, tai chi, mantra-based meditation, and soul retrieval—together shaping a grounded understanding of healing that bridges psychological depth, nervous system regulation, and spiritual restoration.

Psychology & mental health

My search for understanding was not limited to practice alone as I also devoured the wisdom of spiritual teachers and sacred texts such as Wayne Dyer, Sandra Ingerman, Michael Harner, Anita Moorjani, David Hawkins, Dan Millman, Rumi, The Upanishads, A Course in Miracles, and the Tao Te Ching. I’ve also been inspired by the work of Bessel van der Kolk, whose research on trauma has transformed our understanding of the mind-body connection, and Peter Levine, a pioneer in somatic healing and the treatment of trauma.

This journey has shaped me into a more versatile mental health clinician, and a dedicated practitioner of shamanic healing. In addition to my shamanic studies, I have also undergone training in psychedelic-assisted therapy and neurofeedback- blending ancient wisdom with modern therapeutic techniques to offer a holistic approach to healing.

My passion is to form heart-centered connections, hold space for others to re-remember their own greatness, and to assist others in re-writing the story that they’ve always wanted.

My style of counseling is individualized to the unique life of each individual. I work from the framework of transpersonal psychology which integrates the spiritual, emotional, and psychological aspects of your experience. This holistic approach allows us to explore not only the challenges you face but also the deeper spiritual meaning and potential for growth within them. By addressing both the conscious and unconscious dimensions of your life, I support you in connecting with your higher self to uncover your true purpose. I also enjoy using sound healing techniques, such as tuning forks and shamanic drumming, to help to shift energy and facilitate access to higher states of awareness.

I grew up playing three sports—football, basketball, and baseball—and two instruments, the saxophone and clarinet. Today, I enjoy practicing the sacred martial art Kenpo and honing my skills on the flute. I also have a deep appreciation for Sufi poetry, studying integrated approaches to well-being, traveling to high vibrational places, and practicing Qigong. I love walking my two dogs, Ozzie (a Shiba Inu) and Chloe (a Rat Terrier), who I consider my spirit guides. I’m a lifelong sports fan and some of my favorite athletes of all time include Shawn Michaels, Michael Jordan, Chipper Jones, and Mike Tyson
